Nosovsky Alexander, Russia, 38 years old male.

1.When did you start to play renju and how did you learn it? How many years have you played renju?

I have started to play Renju in 1978 year together with my schoolfriends Nick Alexandrov and Vyacheslav Brover (now both members of California Renju Club). Brover was able to read Japanese and we had went to the Foreign Libroary and were reading newspaper "Akahata" where some Renju problems were published.

We had solved them and so we know some about Renju, when in Newspaper "Sovetskiy Sport" was published article "Lets play Renju". We have met Mr. sapronov who had contacts with Nihon Renju Sha.

Nick and I have solved 1-st Dan Test in 1979 year and have received 1-st (koka) Dan in April 1979. So I was the second european who had got Dan level in Renju after Mr. Sapronov.

Then we started to spred Renju at the former USSR, publishing series of articles in "Nauka i Zhizn" megazin. After that a lot of five in a row players started to learn Renju at former USSR. 

I was first Chairman of Moscow Renju Club.

2.Do you play in a club? In which clubs have you played?

Yes, I play in Moscow Renju Club.

3.Which are your best results in national and international tournaments (Usual tournaments and e-mail tournaments). Which is your international rating for the moment?

In 1982-185 years I was two times (2 and 3) World Champion by mail. I was also three times N2 in Moscow Championships and N3 in USSR Championship.

I think that my international rating is now above 2100. (2120)

4.Which is the best player you have met?

I have met all best players of the world. Just now, I have return from great match Meritee-Nakamura. you can find my article about this event very soon at my page.

5.Can you explain why you enjoy renju?

It is very difficult to explain, I really know that I like it, but can not explain why.

6.Which is your plans for the future as a player?

I think I have plan to play in E-mail WC Final, and participated in some International Renju Tournaments in different countries.

8.Have you anything else interesting to tell that you think that I should have asked for?

I am vice-president of RIF, and a lot of information about my activity is at my Renju page
