I'm Konstantin Nikonov from Elektrostal, Russia. I'm 38 years old man.

1.When did you start to play renju and how did you learn it? How many years have you played renju?

My first games on renju were at the end of 1980 when I got invitation from Vladimir Sapronov, the Soviet Union renju founder.

2.Do you play in a club? In which clubs have you played?

I am playing in Moscow renju club.

3.Which are your best results in national and international tournaments (Usual tournaments and e-mail tournaments). Which is your international rating for the moment?

I was a Russian vice-champion in 1993.

I was the USSR champion in team (3 times), Moscow champion and cup holder, Russian champion via mail (envelope).

I win Russian first leagues twice.

In 1996 Russia win the First team world championship. I was a captain of our team.

I had played in 3rd World Championship (Arjeplog) and was 11th. 

I win e-mail world championship first league in 1999.

4.Which is the best player you have met?

I think, the strongest was Ando Meritee, but Nikolay Mikhailov was the best. He did a lot of brilliant moves against me. Unfortunately he was died in 1995 on July 7.

5.Can you explain why you enjoy renju?

Renju is a beauty game. It likes to feel the strength of the moves.

6.Which is your plans for the future as a player?

Get a place in Russian team. Try to win the world championship via e-mail.

8. The main centers of renju in Russia are Moscow and St.Petersburg.

Others are Nizhny Novgorod, Poduga, Zhigulyovsk, Rybinsk, the places where coaches work with children.

We have three level Russian championship - Regional tournaments - First league - High league.

Our championship is free for foreign players who may participate from the First league.

Nikolay Mikhailov, Ants Soosyrv, Stefan Karlsson, Gatis Gurtskis were the best foreigner in our High leagues.
