1.When did you start to play renju and how did you learn it? How many years have you played renju?

I began to play renju in 1983 after I have read about renju in Kvant magazine (Russia). From the magazine I have solved renju test and after that I have received 7 kyu rank. After that renju players of Tomsk renju club have invited me to take part in renju competitions.

I want to express deep gratitude to my first renju teachers and best friends: Viktor Korobtsev, Viktor Kurochkin, Sergey Kalashnik, Aleksey Kolesnikov, Albert Sahapov ( all of them from Tomsk) and Igor Karataev (now he lives in Ukraine).

2.Do you play in a club? In which clubs have you played?

Since 1993 I play in Tyumen renju club (Tyumen town, West Siberia). In 1983 1993 I played in Tomsk renju club (Tomsk town, East Siberia).

3.Which are your best results in national and international

tournaments (Usual tournaments and e-mail tournaments). Which is your international rating for the moment?

I played in many national and international tournaments.

Twice I took part in championship of former USSR on renju (high league).

In that time I had 7 dan rank.

Now I have third dan rank and my international rating is 2359.

4.Which is the best player you have met?

Still I didn t play with Mr. Nakamura, Mr. Nara and Mr. Kawamura.

In my opinion the best player and the fan of renju was Nikolay Mikhalov.

Up to tears are sick that he is not present among us.

5.Can you explain why you enjoy renju?

There are three main reasons - meeting with the friends, struggle of minds and aesthetic pleasure from skilful game, from excellent combination and even from one good move.

6.Which is your plans for the future as a player?

To take part in any national or international tournament and e-mail tournament.
